Elephant Rescue Park is an organisation devoted to the welfare and protection of elephants in Thailand. Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these extraordinary animals, with the ultimate goal of promoting their well-being and conservation. Traditionally, elephants in Thailand have been used for various human activities, but we recognise the urgent need to transition towards a more compassionate and sustainable approach that respects the natural rights and needs of these animals.
At Elephant Rescue Park, we prioritise the physical and emotional health of our elephants. Our dedicated team of experts ensures that they receive proper nutrition, medical care, and ample space to roam freely. We do not support or engage in any activities that involve riding, performing tricks, or any form of exploitation.
Education and awareness are at the heart of our mission. We strive to enlighten the public about the importance of elephant conservation, the threats they face in the wild, and the significance of ethical tourism practices. By fostering a greater understanding of these issues, we hope to inspire positive change.
With the support of visitors, volunteers, and partners, Elephant Rescue Park actively contributes to local conservation efforts and collaborates with organisations working towards a common goal. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these incredible animals and preserve their existence for future generations.

Our Park
Elephant Rescue Park was established in August 2015 to provide a loving home for rescued and abused elephants, many of whom come from the bustling cities of Thailand, where they have been exploited by humans and often forced to beg on the streets for money.
Objective
Our primary objective is to create a safe, loving, and secure environment for these magnificent animals. This can only be achieved with your help and support by visiting our beautiful park and contributing through adoptions, donations, and various fundraising projects that we organise.
Your Visit
During your visit, you will have the unique opportunity to engage in one-on-one interactions with our beautiful rescued elephants. Get to know our mahouts, the vital guardians in each elephant’s life. You’ll have the chance to feed them, walk alongside them, hug them, bathe with them, and so much more, depending on your choice of activities.
Opportunity
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about these highly sensitive and emotional animals. Elephant Rescue Park offers four special elephant programmes for you to choose from. These unique and well-organised tours are designed to help fund our elephants. All profits from our tours go directly back to the care of our elephants and towards rescuing new ones.
Our project began from a place of deep compassion, a dream that has now become a reality. Tourists often do not see the behind-the-scenes realities and the true facts that occur at other well-known elephant sanctuaries. We have nothing to hide here; we show and explain everything to you.
Our Small Hands
Our passion for elephants knows no bounds, and we believe you will discover the same joy and fascination during your visit.
A Loving Place For Elephants
We dedicate ourselves to rescuing elephants from the harsh realities of circuses, the logging industry, the riding trade, and the cruelty of mistreatment and accidents.

Great place to visit! The staff was super nice and kind, they treated the Elephant very well and didnt use force or any other tools to get the Elephant to do anything. As they said "when Elephant walks, we walk. When Elephant stops, we stop. Elephant is the boss" 10/10 recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐘
INCREDIBLE. We had our doubts, we were dying to see elephants, but we didn't want to see elephants locked up. However, we have been able to feel and see from very close up the affection with which these big boys are cared for and treated. KIT has been an exceptional guide, he has answered all our questions and it was clear that he was a PROFESSIONAL. I will definitely recommend it to everyone. Thank you for letting us live this experience 🩵
My BEST experience without a doubt in Thailand. A place where elephants are truly treated well. In addition, Kid, who knows how to speak Spanish very well, welcomed us and guided us. Super recommended!!!👍👍👍
Without a doubt one of the best experiences of the trip to Thailand. The guide's knowledge and passion for caring for the elephants made us enjoy and learn a lot. Thank you very much for the great work you do!!
Incredible experience to remember for the rest of your life. There are things in life that are priceless and I believe that this is one of them, apart from the treatment received by the team, which is unbeatable. 10/10 in every way and aspect!
Totally recommended experience. If you want to do an activity in which you can improve the lives of rescued elephants, not rented!, by feeding them, bathing them and walking freely with them, you have to visit Elephant Rescue Park. The treatment by the team and professionalism is unbeatable.
Amazing place to go and interact with elephants in their natural habitat. The guides and handlers were very knowledgeable and treated the elephants with utmost respect. We got the opportunity to feed them, walk with them and bath them which was truly amazing and is sharp contrast what you see in some places like Samui. I truly respect the way they care and look after them. Yes it’s a little bit more expensive but you get what you pay for and a proper ethical experience.
What a beautiful experience, I recommend the place 100% since they are elephants rescued from circuses and other “shelters” where they have been mistreated. So the whole activity is around their care (here you won't be able to ride them for obvious reasons), but if they teach you how to prepare their food and bathe them where it is obvious that they enjoy it a lot, they are used to human contact.
*You can find the Korean review below! The price on their webpage only applies when you pay in cash. We found out this when the guide started to collect money after the program was over. The guide mentioned that they prefer cash and if you want to pay with your card (any kind, check or credit), you are going to be charged 4% more for using their card machine, which I didn't get informed when I made a reservation. (He said it's the same everywhere in Thailand.) I had a big hassel with the guide to pay with my cash & check card because I didn't expect this kind of situation and we didn't have enough money unless we use both of them. The guide finally got the 4% charge when he dropped us to our hotel at the last turn of the group. This buisiness helped us to use our all Thai bills before we head back to our country! Yay
(I expect they will leave a sarcastic comment on this review just like they did with all other "low-starred" reviews. But oh well. That doesn't change the fact that all the tourists need to know these kinds of infos even though the buisiness doesn't like it because it's tourists' right since they spend their money)
The prices listed on the website are cash prices (there was no separate information when making a reservation). When I tried to pay by card, they charged an additional 4% of the total fee for using the card machine. We planned everything before the tour so that we could use up all the baht we had when we left Thailand, but we were so embarrassed when he suddenly said something like that. Even if we die soon, if we drop him off at the hotel, we can use the cash machine to withdraw money and give it to him. There is no such thing in the hotel we stayed in. In the end, I paid all the money in my Cash+Travel Wallet and paid the 4% commission using the remaining cash when I dropped it off at the hotel. They seemed to be embarrassed in front of other passengers, so they kindly let me down last. Haha. According to the guide, in Thailand, if you use a card machine, you get an extra 4%. Haha. I'm leaving a review because I'm so embarrassed.
Magnificent family experience. A place where rescued elephants are treated with love and respect. They live in very good conditions. We learned, and we enjoyed sharing a walk, a bath and feeding them with the elephants.
Amazing site. The guy who runs the place is called kid and he is incredibly nice. They take great care of the elephants here. They are all rescued from zoos and circuses. Super recommended!!! You will feed them. You will walk through the jungle with them and you end up bathing them!!!
Incredible, one of the most nourishing experiences on an emotional and spiritual level, the way they treat the elephants, the daily work they dedicate to them. It really shows that they are passionate about their care and health. Thank you for giving us that magical adventure 👍🏻
Look no further!! This is where you want to go if you want to experience the elephants as best as possible in the most ethical way. Our morning adventure has left me speechless. We had 2 guides to a group of 12 people with 4 elephants. We fed them, walked with them, bathed them (and ourselves) and then walked back to some great Thai food. So many photo ops, guides are very knowledgeable with good English. They love to chat and get to know you too. You can tell the elephants are well taken care of and love humans. 10/10 would recommend and go again next time in Chiang Mai!
The Elephant Rescue Park team is a group of professionals who treat elephants as if they were their children, taking in elephants with problems or that have been mistreated and giving them a new life. As an experience I can say without a doubt that it is the best you can have, you can see the elephants in their natural habitat and very happy and cared for.
10/10, the site is huge with a lot of nature, like being in a jungle, where the elephants are free and the only place where elephants are rescued, cared for and cured. The staff first informs you of everything they have done and do for and with the elephants, they are always treated with respect and they give you very interesting advice and information, they know well what they are talking about. For our part, we took the entire day and I highly recommend it because it is a unique and enriching experience. Diw very nice, super attentive and fun.
Go hallucinate!!! What a blast! THE ONLY PLACE IN ALL OF CHIANG MAI TO BE TRULY RESPECTFUL TO ELEPHANTS. Here they have a caregiver, they are free, they are at home and the workers live with them. They cure them and take care of them from previous abuse (circuses, riding people...etc). The motto of this place is not to force the elephants in anything, they carry out their daily care with you in the same way, according to the animal's needs. I 100% recommend the experience, especially a full day since there is a lot to see and do. The whole day flies by and the food during the break is incredible. You give them food, medicine, you walk with them through the jungle, you wash them during their bath time. It's a real blast. And finally, mention the incredible treatment of DEW, the most attentive and fun guide in the area. Thank you!!!!!
A very amazing experience! There were only 6 of us and it was almost like having a private tour. The guide was very friendly, devoted himself completely to us and told us all about the elephants and much more. You can see that the elephants are treated well, that they have a lot of natural space and freedom. I recommend this shelter. 😀
It was an incredible experience from beginning to end. The transportation from the hotel was very pleasant, the staff was super friendly and the activities with the elephants simply exceeded our expectations, the sanctuary is a structured and responsible place that contributes to the conservation of these incredible animals! 🫶🏻✨🐘
The best experience ever! We chose overnight tour. Tour guide is very friendly, helpful and able to speak English very well. We learnt a lot about how to take care of elephants, including how to see if elephants are irritable. It’s easy to see those elephants are happy under love and well care. We are planning to go back again for those clever and cute elephants!❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Dew, our friendly guide. We had the most amazing time interacting with the elephants and all their wonderful carers. Mr Kit and his team are doing such noble work giving these gentle giants plenty of space to walk around and play and giving us a chance to pet, feed and bath them, at their own pace. All the animals - elephants, buffaloes, dogs are relaxed, well-fed and happy 😊❤️
It is an experience that everyone should do once. 😍 Just to stand next to elephants and look into their eyes is amazing.. They are happy there and treated very well by the staff. Super thanks for Chai (sorry if name written not correctly) which was so professional and told us everything about elephants and even more.. Highly recommended!
It is an experience that has to be lived no matter what, the truth is that we were treated very well by the staff. Living the experience of being with the elephants and being able to stand next to them and look into their eyes is priceless. Highly recommended place since it is a place of responsible tourism since they help rescued elephants.
One of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! Our tour guide’s name was Shy, (Definitely not spelled correctly, but pronounced like “shy”) and he was great!
The tour starts by them picking you up and driving you to the park, allowing you to see the beautiful scenery along the way. Once you arrive you change into the provided clothing and boots. Then they give you an introduction to feeding the elephants, what the tour will consist of, background on the park, and some funny demonstrations. Our guides also spoke English really well which was nice, considering we don’t know much Thai.
After that you make your way over to the elephants and begin feeding them, as well as taking photos. Then you begin your walk with the elephants. We walked around enjoying the views of them along side the mountainous region.
Then we went to a pond and began to bathe the elephants, which was so much fun. Afterwords, you change out of your provided clothing and into your change of clothes, and begin to eat a meal they make you. 10/10 for how good the meal was.
I’ll also add as a side note, we wanted to go to Sticky Waterfall afterwords and a very nice lady named Goon (Also not spelled correctly but pronounced as such) took us there! She was so much fun and talked to us the whole way! She even waited for us to get done and took us back to our Airbnb!
Everyone is so friendly and the treatment of the elephants is spectacular. You can tell how much everyone cares for them.
Do not miss an opportunity such as this. You won’t get a better experience anywhere else!
Our guide is a true enthusiast who accompanies us throughout this day with numerous explanations and anecdotes. It’s a real pleasure to follow the elephants in their daily lives.
Thanks again to the whole team for this fabulous day 🧡🧡
We had most amazing time at the Rescue Park. The elephants are all well looked after and happy in their surroundings. The staff truly care for the elephants and have a good rapport with them. Definitely a great deal of affection between handler and elephants. We stayed the night and we were also very well looked after. We would thoroughly recommend this park.
A place where elephants are loved, cured, fed and cared for with dignity. Here they are happy and calm, no exploitation to please the tourist. Here you can closely accompany them in their daily routine, have eye contact, hug them... Of course it is an unforgettable experience for animal lovers. Thanks to the organizers, workers and volunteers for donations.
CHOOSE THIS PLACE without any doubt. They treat elephants in the best way I've seen. As if you'd work for the elephants and not the other way around. In this place you are an observer, a helper. Elephants walk - you walk with them, elephants want to go bath - you bath them, they want a treat - you give them banana or a corn. I absolutely loved the experience and the guide - Dew. Keep this park going - it's such a gift for every resqued elephant.
We spent a whole day in this park with the elephants and with those who look after them with professionalism and affection. It was a very interesting experience especially because we interacted with them without upsetting their habits; we gave them food, walked and bathed with them. Important: elephants are not ridden by tourists! The park guides are very competent, thank you! If you are passing through Chiang Mai, I highly suggest you take this excursion. Good fun !
Mr Kid and the staff were very kind and knowledgeable. The elephants were lovely and we had a great time learning to care for them. This place appears to be ethical and we were happy to support them.
Our son lives in Bangkok, and had reservations about elephant sanctuaries and whether they were actually ethical. I am delighted to report that he was reassured and as thrilled by our experience at Elephant Rescue Park as we all were. An unforgettable and truly heartwarming morning. Respect and gratitude to the 'small hands' (as the founder calls them) and huge hearts of all those working in the Park.
Sean was our tour guide, and he did an amazing job. He educated us on the history of elephants in Thailand and how they care for them. They gave us uniforms to wear and rubber boots. We fed, walked with, and bathed the elephants. We were also provided a good lunch.
The experience was great, magnificent and spectacular. The personalized attention from Kid was phenomenal, and I am very grateful for his way of explaining and assisting us. The love and care is evident. Please go and visit this site, don't stop supporting it. Greetings from Mexico
I came to the elephants, and this is an office where some grandfather is sleeping. Nothing was explained to the elephants. There's definitely no need to come here
A place where elephants are not ridden, they rescue them from places where they were mistreated and take care of them. Very friendly people where they teach you about the elephants and teach you how to coexist in a respectful manner.
It was an incredible experience. From the beginning they explain everything to you, the difference between wild elephants and domestic ones, which makes you understand the story with an open mind. Elephants live here that have been rescued from places where they were exploited and/or mistreated, they are very well cared for, with a lot of love and a lot of space. In this experience we were accompanied by Yon (sorry if I don't write it correctly), who has great knowledge in everything related to elephants. It is an experience full of peace and love, highly recommended.
A great experience! Well organized and all the employees were very nice and attentive. The ten elephant girls were simply lovely. I can recommend it with a clear conscience.
A moment out of time! We spent the day and we are enchanted and amazed! The guide explained to us the why and how of this refuge. At no time did we feel like we were just tourists. We prepared the meal, interacted with the elephants and participated in the bath. The meal was delicious and our guide was educational, honest and funny. We highly recommend!
Very good experience! The elephants are treated amazingly, they have lots of space and wonderful caretakers. I recommend a private tour, even if more expensive, its so much better! The elephants are not stressed from you, lots of time for pictures, walking with them in the park, on their own ritym and you get in the water with them bathing. Its clearly to see they are relaxed there and its well worth your investment!
Was expecting more for the 2,200 baht per person price. Turned out to be a 500m walk close to your properties / the road with the elephants.
On the plus: lunch was good, opportunity to take pictures with the elephants was good.
What I was expecting was a 60-90’ jungle trek with the elephants as advertised. Now you even write that it was our decision not to go anywhere which is complete nonsense.
We researched for a long time because there are big differences in how elephants are treated. At this park you can tell that the ranchers love their animals and that the animals are well. Definitely worth a visit!
The real deal - elephants are truly rescued and subsequently loved & cared for here, so this was such a lovely experience in a beautiful environment. The park’s founder as well as the staff were genuine people & super knowledgable!
We did the 2-day tour, but the second day was actually a repeat of the afternoon of the first day, followed by the sticky waterfall (but this only took about 20 minutes to climb). In our opinion, they could have easily added the sticky waterfall to the program of the first day. Very friendly people at the elephant rescue park, who clearly want the best for the elephants!
I have to say that Elephant Rescue Park is by far the best in Chiang Mai, I’ve visited a lot of rescue parks here in Chiang Mai and noticed that the majority of them just rent elephants… you don’t really know about their background or their natural living quarters, Elephant Rescue Park actually provides a forever home for all the elephants in the park, that’s why Elephant Rescue Park stands out from the rest. It’s really worth a visit if you’re looking for an outdoor adventure.
An excellent organisation that advocate rescuing elephants and rehabilitating the elephants in their 200 + acres park. I have seen up close and personal the whole operations and this gives me great joy just to spend time there. My new favourite is coffee with elephants in the morning.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this camp. I have been to Chiang Mai many times and have visited a camp almost every time. There were far too many people in this one (20) and we had a guide. There were seven elephants in total. The animals seemed stressed and the mahouts pulled them by their ears and constantly forced them to stop to take photos with the tourists. For example, I can recommend the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, where the elephants roam freely and are not forced to do anything. The price was also pretty outrageous. 2200 baht and an additional 200 baht for photos. In total we were only there for 2 hours. So that morning the Rescue Park took in 48,000 baht. In the afternoon another group came again. I felt like it was all about the money. I'm really surprised by the consistently positive reviews.
We did 2 days/1 night and it was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had, Beyond the Elephants saved from circuses or forced labor, you will meet wonderful people, do not hesitate to talk to them and exchange ideas to have a more than unforgettable moment. Thank you again for all The rooms are comfortable, the food is great and the staff are great
I got a visit to this park as a birthday present from a friend who had been there last year. I was a little worried it would be a bit of a "circus for the people" and that I wouldn't like it. I leave Chiang Mai enriched with one of the best experiences of my life. It's hard to describe. It is emotional and profound. And so I have to recommend everyone to go experience it for themselves. I hope I have the same memory of an elephant and will remember this experience for a lifetime. Thank you for a great guide, an amazing day (I definitely recommend the full program to everyone) and the best birthday present I could have received.
The experience was good, it was one of my dreams to be able to see the elephants at your leisure, and I did a lot of research because I know that the situation with the elephants is a sad thing in Thailand. This seemed to me to be the most viable. They give you a very nice red uniform, and they give you a talk about the elephants, they tell you about their history and how much they can eat. Then they let you feed them, each elephant has its caretaker, they give you a tour with the elephants and then they tell you if they want to bathe them. To be honest, after the tour I left sad, I know that these elephants were mistreated but they are treated like dogs.
A place recommended by others who have been here. We spent two days here. And it was the best two days spent in Thailand so far. Time stopped here... everything took place in a calm and very friendly atmosphere. The owner is an incredible enthusiast... he spoke with great commitment about his mission and what they do, which he passed on to his employees. Very nice, friendly, helpful people. Our guide - first class!!!!100% committed, with great English!
And the elephants? Simply divine, majestic, despite the weight, very delicate, gracefully moving, wise, and happy. You can simply see that they have freedom there, they are not trained, you can observe their natural behavior and not the behavior caused by training (the uncool, brutal one)
Great food, great accommodation!
After two days with elephants - your view of the world changes...
After such a visit, you won't be able to go to the zoo, ride an elephant or go to the circus...
Great experience!! They really take care responsibly of the elephant in an incredible ethical way.
They were super punctual in the pick up and we could enjoy the entire afternoon with the elephants.
It was a fun experience feeding, walking and cleaning the elephants. They have different programs if you want to enjoy the entire day or multiple days. This is 100% safe for any age.
I will definitely visit Elephant Rescue when I come back to Chiang Mai and absolutely recommend them.
Their team has the mission to rescue elephants from Logging industry, circus and walking campus protecting and taking care of the elephants.
Such a nice and lovely experience! Chai was our tour guide and he was really good, he explained everything about the elephants! Thank you! I would recommend it!!
This was my second time interacting with elephants in the Chiang Mai area, but it was on a completely different level than the first time.
The owner is passionate about rescuing animals. Elephants are the star of the show, but they also have buffaloes, wild boars, dogs, chickens…
All the elephants in this park have been rescued (bought) from abusive places (logging industry, circus,…), or after being injured.
Im always skeptical about places that clame to be ethical, but the whole story there feels very authentic.
The elephants do pretty much what they want, and there is no pressure from the visitors or the Mahouts. “You work for the elephant, not the other way around” kept saying our guide, and it felt that way.
There was still a lot of elephant feeding, petting, hugging, bathing, photos,… but it wasn’t forced or rushed.
The experience is pricier than other places, but the guide explained to us that other structures cover their cost by renting elephants, or by having lots of visitors, which is too stressful for the elephants.
So if you are looking for an authentic elephant experience without feeling any remorse after leaving, you shouldn’t be disappointed by this place.
Unforgettable experience at a true sanctuary for elephants. Brings you as close as possible to these magnificent beings. Thanks to Andy for being such a wonderful guide. The absolute highlight of our trip to Thailand, and a treasured memory.
I went here with my wife on December 6th (2023). I cannot say enough good things about our time here - it was a highlight of a trip that had just soooo many other highlights. The elephants are very well behaved. The program includes learning about them, feeding them (a lot!) and swimming with them. Perhaps the most important thing though, is that this place is extremely ethical. Bonus: they have a puppy named Dum Dum 😉
Incredible experience, ethical and professional. Would absolutely recommend coming here if you want to spend quality time with these beautiful elephants
Had an AMAZING experience at Elephant Rescue Park. We booked the overnight 2 day package and we highly recommend it.
Getting the opportunity during the evening to connect with the owner and operators of the park was very insightful and engaging. Very reassuring to hear how much the Park cares for their elephants and hear their (IMO) realistic view of how to promote an ethical and sustainable elephant experience.
I’ve seen how other parks choose to care for their elephants AND visitors and this park excels at both. So glad to learn during our extended tour that they have plans of expanding their park and giving their elephants a larger range to explore.
We had a good day, it doesn't seem like they treat the elephants badly, it's better than being mistreated in circuses, for riding, or for work... but still, the taste is bittersweet. They look like dogs, with their established schedule for everything, their time for walks, meals... they don't leave the elephants at ease. Everything is very guided so that you can do it with the “tourist”. In short, the real shame is that people who are mentally ill have committed such cruelty to them and now it is impossible to return them to their habitat.
We had so much fun! We booked the full day trip and were lucky because there were only 4 of us in the morning. First we learned a lot about the elephants and prepared the food, which we were able to feed directly to an elephant and let it experience something. After a generous and good lunch, a larger group went for a walk and then bathed all the other elephants.
It was an absolute highlight and we would recommend it to everyone!
A superb experience, we can see the strong bond that there is between each caregiver and the elephant they accompany. We followed the elephants according to their desires and they were not forced to interact with us! I booked directly at the office in the old town and the process went very well as well as the support.
It was a good experience seeing elephants for the first time, they seemed to be well treated and not forced to do anything. They give you a short explanation of the differences between domestic elephants and wild elephants.
We went to the Park with a 4 year old and a 6 months old baby. Everything was very well organized, you have enough time for each activity, no rush. Food was good even for a picky 4 year old and there are sofas and benches for breastfeeding and changing the baby. The staff is friendly, accommodating & helpful (one the members even rode a bike to the nearest store to get our kid a Coke). Our guide Shy was always ready to answer a thousand Whats & Whys coming from our child and made her feel safe and comfortable while playing with the elephants. Wouldn't recommend going there with kids in the summer, it was quite hot even in October, but I bet the experience would be even more enjoyable in the cooler months.
I was sceptical before coming in because of reviews of other places. I couldn’t be more wrong. From what I could see, the elephants are happy and treated wonderfully. I don’t want to spoil the visit to anyone, but the whole tour consists in taking care of the elephants (not the other way around) - as it should be. It is also clear the love and care the staff has for the elephants and also for providing a great experience to the visitors. Thank you guys so so much for this wonderful memory!
it was the most amazing and unforgettable trip of my life. it changed me. such close contact with these great animals revealed something new in me. the desire to be close to nature and do everything possible to protect it. I have not seen a bad attitude towards elephants. we fed them and washed and bathed with them. it is a great honor to be next to those who save animals from a hellish life. I wish you prosperity and save as many of these incredible animals as possible!
It's one of the pricier elephant parks but it's worth the money imo. 3000 THB pp for the full day program. The park was huge and the guides seemed very knowledgeable. We met with 5 elephants in total. We mainly fed one and walked with three. There were only 5 people in our group so we had plenty of opportunities to interact with the elephants. We encountered the half day program and there were way more people in their group. I think the number of people changes based on how many people sign up that day. So go during the down season if you can to maximize the experience.
After spending ages searching online for the right place, I finally found Elephant Rescue Park and I’m so glad we did. Be careful when searching online as there are a few with a similar name that aren’t helping rescued Elephants - this is the place you’re looking for. We did a full day tour with the elephants and it was such a magical, once in a lifetime experience. They pick you up from your hotel. We were VERY lucky that nobody else booked on our date so we basically had a private tour. However groups are still good sized and you’re given plenty of time to hang out with the elephants. You learn about the food they eat and prepare snacks for them before being able to feed them. Then after lunch (freshly made Thai food, very delicious) you get to walk with them and then bathe them. Memories that will last a lifetime. Pong was such a great guide and all the staff had genuine love and care for the elephants and treated them like family. Highly recommend and thank you to Pong and the team!
These are people with golden hearts. Their care for the elephants is endless and they really treat them as a family. As for the activity, it was perfect. We were picked on time from our hotel, we changed to the uniforms and then we were engaged in feeding the elephants, walking with them and bathing them for a few minutes only (just when they wanted to). The activity also involved a big educational part on elephants in general and the sanctuary elephants in particular. The story of the first rescued elephant who passed away was just heartbreaking. Now there are currently 8 elephants there. I really hope they continue getting enough support for their important mission.
I recently visited Elephant Rescue Park and was blown away by the level of care and dedication that the owner and staff have for the elephants. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the well-being of the elephants was the top priority.
The owner was incredibly knowledgeable about elephants and was able to share a wealth of information with us. It was clear that they have a true passion for these majestic animals and are dedicated to providing them with the best possible care.
The sanctuary itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the elephants seemed to be thriving in their environment. They had plenty of space to roam and interact with each other, and the staff was constantly monitoring their well-being and providing them with everything they needed.
We did a lot of research before choosing a sanctuary to visit, and Elephant Rescue Park stood out as the clear choice. It is clear that they are an ethical and responsible sanctuary that truly cares about the welfare of their elephants. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves elephants and wants to support a sanctuary that truly makes a difference.
One of the best experiences we’ve had in our 5 months travelling the world. For starters, the owner Mr Kid is really knowledgable on everything to do with elephants and their welfare, these are rescued elephants from the circus, logging etc and you can really tell he has the passion and care to change these elephants life. He sat with us for 2 hours on the night time (as we done the overnight stay) to educate us about the elephants, the history of the rescue park and the fact he even remortgaged his own house just to get one elephant away from the circus! He and all of the other guides and mahouts made the experience unforgettable. The overnight stay was great and I’d definitely recommend that, it is a little pricier however you get all meals included as well as an overnight stay in the cabin which has everything you need. Plus if you spend more money, more goes towards the elephants well-being and car which for me is a big positive. You get to walk the elephants up the mountains, bathe them as well as play with them and enjoy their company. They are expertly taking care of by all staff and their mahouts and you can really tell they care for these elephants, they all have their individual names and are all cared for individually with different diets! A lot of work goes into this rescue park and I have not spoke to an owner of a business who has cared so much not just for the elephants but for his staff and his family too, it was a real pleasure to experience this, you MUST go for the overnight tour. It is a way more personal than experience, me, my girlfriend and our 2 friends thoroughly enjoyed the full trip. Thanks Mr Kid and all of the staff and elephants, shout-out to our baby Buma hope you’re doing well !!
Elephant Rescue Park is most likely the best elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai. Thanks to our guide Am who is very knowledgeable about the elephants and speaks good English. The elephants here are really well taken care by their mahouts who kinda have great bonding with the elephants. Mr Kid,the owner of the place is really dedicated in taking great care of the elephants and not into profit making mindset. His efforts and work done for these gentle giants are very impressive. I took the whole day package and it was really amazing. We really get to spend lots of time with the elephants. The park also has great accomodation for those who plan on doing their overnight package. The view is really nice. Will definitely come back again and recommend to family and friends.
This is by far the best place to visit in Chiang Mai for us. A hidden gem of Chiang Mai. The place is so beautifully tucked away in a corner near the mountains and water, plenty of area for the elephants to enjoy. We had the 1 day package, and if we'd known better we would choose the overnight package ! Their accomodation is amazing with a great view. Overlooking the place where the elephants come for food. The guide was very knowledgeable about the elephants and the care taker of the elephants have a relationship with them so you feel safe with the elephants. The owner (Mr.Kid) is a man who has a genuine love for this majestic creature, and a man we are more than happy to support in this quest to educate people about elephants and why they are truly, the King of the jungle. If you are an animal lover and nature's lover, you MUST come here. It was an unforgettable experience for husband and me, and we will definitely come here again. Amazing amazing. I give it 10 stars if I could. You can find many elephant parks here in Chiang Mai, but I guarantee you, this is the best by far. God bless this team of elephant lovers, that they can continue doing what they do, to make the world a better place for these gentle loving creatures.
Amazing experience with Elephant Rescue Park. The association takes really care of the elephants and devoted to their defense. Pong (the guide) is really kind, attentive and always ready to talk about the park and the northern thaï culture 🇹🇭🐘
One of the best experiences that I had in Thailand! Thanks for all the great work that you do ❤️🩹🐘♥️ I did the full day one and it was a bit long for me, but because I’m a lazy person. Both half and full day options are totally worth it!
I contacted the park via email to arrange visiting and got a reply back with confirmation date, time and what I should bring with me booking was very simple and quick! Pong was our guide and was extremely passionate and friendly and full of energy. He educated us and answered any questions we had. This isn’t a tour to just take photos you will learn a lot about the elephants. Every single member of staff we met you could see that they had a genuine passion for the elephants. We did the full day and it is a day that I will not forget in a long time. A highlight of my trip to Thailand. Thank you to all the staff and elephants🐘❤️

Together, we can create a world where elephants flourish in harmony with nature. Our Park was established in August 2015 with the noble aim of providing a sanctuary for rescued and abused elephants, many of whom have endured exploitation in the bustling cities of Thailand, often forced to beg on the streets for money. Our primary objective is to create a safe, loving, and secure environment for these magnificent animals. This mission can only be realised with your support, whether through visiting our beautiful park or contributing via adoptions, donations, and various fundraising initiatives that we undertake. Your Visit promises an unforgettable experience where you will have the chance to engage in one-on-one interactions with our beautiful rescued elephants. You will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from our mahouts, the essential guardians in each elephant’s life. You’ll be able to feed them, walk alongside them, hug them, play with them, bathe them, and so much more, all depending on your chosen activities. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain insight into the lives of these highly sensitive and emotional animals. Elephant Rescue Park offers four unique elephant programmes for you to choose from, each meticulously designed to help fund the care of our elephants.
