Rescue Mission

Our team goes to great lengths to rescue captive Asian elephants from exploitation, mistreatment, malnourishment and abuse in the logging and entertainment industries throughout Thailand.

Great distances are travelled in order to fully understand and analyze the elephant’s conditions, often requiring the expertise of an on-hand veterinarian. We then work to establish relationships with these elephants’ owners and mahouts before we are able to formulate our Rescue Plan, which involves payment to the owner in order to secure the release of his or her elephant to our sanctuary.

Upon arrival at our sanctuary, the elephants are often under-nourished, traumatized, weak, and distressed by the long journey they have undertaken in order to reach us. These animals inevitably need immediate care and nourishment, and our priority is to ensure that they feel safe and at peace as quickly as possible.

One elephant rescue costs anywhere from US$ 35,000 to US$ 50,000 in order for us to safely transport, obtain, and perform the necessary veterinary care needed. And we need all the support we can get. We believe that a small group of committed people can make a difference, one elephant at a time.

Our Land

We now face an even greater challenge, land in Chiang Mai is becoming  scarce and very expensive Elephant Rescue Park is set in a 80 Rai plot of land, that’s (31.6295 acre) surrounded by natural dense forest thus creating a perfect environment for our elephants.

Our mission started back in 2015 without sufficient funds to purchase our own land we had no alternative but to lease instead, now our leasing agreement is close to an end, the owner has decided to sell the land and not lease anymore.

We have fist refusal but it comes with a hefty price tag of 15 million thai baht, that’s around ($300,000) this amount of money is just too much for us to find in just a short period of time. We are now negotiating a way forward, meaning a possibility to pay the owner by instalments.

The price isn’t negotiable but the length of time to pay is, so we’ve decided to create this page as a plea for help and support, please find it in your heart to help save the home for our elephants, every little counts, you can make a donation by clicking on any of the pre-set amounts below or simply use the custom amount of your choice.

I would like to say thank you in advance for your kind generosity.
